The R.D.S. Primary Science Fair
Fifth and Sixth Class have been allocated a stand at the R.D.S. Primary Science Fair. There was a huge demand for places and they were delighted to be given the opportunity to participated.
The Primary Science Fair provides a public forum for schools across Ireland to showcase their science project, receive feedback from experts in the field and learn from viewing other projects at a major exhibition, the B.T. Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition.
Our project theme is " Does effective handwashing with soap reduce the spread of microbes"
There is a lot of work to be done before January 13th and it starts on Friday next with a trip to the science laboratory in the Presentation Secondary School. Here under the expert guidance of Caitlin Kelly, sixth class will make up approx 70 agar plates which will be required for our investigations.
It is hoped the children will really enjoy this experience and learn a lot from it.
